The weighting rule that reduces a signal's contribution as it ages.
Signal decayACCOUNT INTELLIGENCE
A job posting from last week and one from March are not equally informative, but a naive scoring model treats them the same and produces an account that looks permanently hot. Signal decay applies a declining weight as an event ages, so a burst of activity in one quarter stops masquerading as intent in the next. The practical consequence is that a decayed score can fall without anything new happening, which is itself information: the window is closing.
